Funk Sanders was formed in 2015 at the University of Tennessee with one goal - bring the party back.

After a couple years of playing parties, bars, and Ed's house, the band graduated and went their separate ways. In 2020, bored with being stuck inside due to the pandemic, Funk Sanders decided to start collaborating remotely on new original material. This led to the group meeting up every few months to hash out new ideas in person and to play the occasional show. These initial efforts led to Funk Sanders' first EP - Heapin' Fixin'. After enjoying the recording experience and playing music together again, work in the Riff Factory quickly started back up in preparation for their next full length album - Second Helpin'. The band now regularly gets together to write new material and play shows in Knoxville, Chattanooga, or wherever else they find themselves.
